Rory McIlroy won the TOUR Championship by one stroke over Sungjae Im and World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, becoming the first player to win the FedExCup three times. McIlroy earned his 22nd PGA TOUR title and became the 31st player to win 22 times on TOUR.

McIlroy was six strokes back of Scheffler entering the week (-4 in FedExCup Starting Strokes) and the final round.

Scheffler became the eighth player in TOUR history to lose a lead of six strokes with 18 holes left to play and first since Dustin Johnson at the 2017 WGC-HSBC Champions.

Im became the first player from Asia to finish first or second in the FedExCup standings. The only Asian player to previously finish in the top five was K.J. Choi in 2007 (No. 5).
