Notes
Justin Thomas won the World Golf Championships-FedEx St. Jude Inivtational for the second time, earning his 13th PGA TOUR title and third of the season.
At 27 years, 3 months, 4 days, Justin Thomas became the third player since 1960 to win 13 times by that age, joining Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods.
Following the win, Justin Thomas moved to No. 1 in the Official World Golf Ranking for the second time in his career and first since the week of June 3, 2018. He became the second consecutive FedExCup leader to win the event and fifth consecutive to enter the week No. 3 or better in both the FedExCup standings and OWGR (entered No. 1 and No. 3, respectively).
Justin Thomas Entered the final round trailing by four strokes, his largest comeback since the 2016 CIMB Classic (four strokes).
In his title defense, Brooks Koepka opened with a 62 en route to a T2. He became the first defending champion to finish runner-up since Xander Schauffele at the 2020 Sentry Tournament of Champions.
Brooks Koepka held a two-stroke lead after the first round, becoming the first defending champion on TOUR to hold the 18-hole lead/co-lead since he led outright after the first round of the 2019 PGA Championship. He began the first round with four consecutive birdies, opening a tournament on a Birdie Streak of four for the first time in his career.
Daniel Berger earned his fifth top-five in a six-start stretch, finishing T2. He played the event for the first time since it moved to TPC Southwind, site of his first two wins on the PGA TOUR. Berger earned a spot in the 2020 U.S. Open as the only player in the top 10 not otherwise exempt.
With a T2, Phil Mickelson became the first player age 50 or older to finish runner-up on TOUR since Vijay Singh at the 2016 Quicken Loans National. It marked the 37th second-place finish of his career and first since The American Express in 2019.
Tom Lewis closed with rounds of 61-66 to tie for second. He entered the third round tied for 57th before earning the runner-up result. Marked his first top-10 on the PGA TOUR.
Brendon Todd held the 36- and 54-hole before finishing T15. Todd held his fourth 54-hole lead/co-lead on TOUR during the season and fifth of his career.
