Notes

Tiger Woods won the Masters Tournament by one stroke to claim his fifth tournament title, 15th major championship crown and 81st PGA TOUR victory at age 43 years, 3 months, 15 days. With the win, Woods moved within one of Sam Snead's record for PGA TOUR wins and within three of Jack Nicklaus' record 18 major championships.

Only Jack Nicklaus in 1986 (46 years, 2 months, 23 days) had previously won the Masters at an older age than Tiger Woods, the seventh player in his 40s to win the event.

Tiger Woods entered the final round trailing Francesco Molinari by two strokes and had never previously come from behind after 54 holes to win a major.

11 years removed from his win at the 2008 U.S. Open, his most recent major championship, Tiger Woods became the first player since Ben Crenshaw (1984 Masters, 1995 Masters) to go 11 years or more between wins at majors. In addition, Woods recorded the victory 14 years after winning most recently at Augusta National Golf Club, the longest such streak through 83 editions of the event (previous: Gary Player/13).

With his fifth win at the event, Tiger Woods made the Masters the seventh PGA TOUR event at which he has collected five or more victories.

Dustin Johnson recorded his fourth consecutive top-10 at the event, closing with birdies on four of his last six holes to tie Brooks Koepka and Xander Schauffele for second. The T2 represented Johnson's best result in a major championship since winning the 2016 U. S. Open. For the first time in nine starts at the event, Johnson posted four under-par scores.

First- and second-round co-leader Brooks Koepka posted four under-par scores, highlighted by a first-round 66, to earn the runner-up, his first top-10 at the event. He played the par 5s in 13-under, tied with Tony Finau for best in the field.

Xander Schauffele's T2 marked his fourth top-10 result in his eighth major championship start (T2/2019 Masters Tournament, T2/2018 The Open, T6/2018 U.S. Open, T5/2017 U.S. Open). Led the field with 25 birdies, becoming the third player since 1980 to have 25 or more birdies in a single Masters, joining Phil Mickelson (25/2001)and Jordan Spieth (28/2015).

Francesco Molinari shared the 36-hole lead and held a two-stroke 54-hole lead before closing with a 2-over 74 to finish T5. Molinari had never previously finished better than T19 in seven starts at the event. He 49 consecutive holes without a bogey (No. 12/R1 through No. 6/R4), one shy of the tournament record entering the week(50/ Stuart Appleby/2001).

Five players (Jason Day, Brooks Koepka, Francesco Molinari, Louis Oosthuizen and Adam Scott )were tied for the 36-hole lead, the first time in Masters history that more than four shared the second-round lead. All five co-leaders were major championship winners.

Four amateurs advanced to the weekend, the most since 1999 (4). U.S. Amateur champion Viktor Hovland, at 3-under and T32, won the Silver Cup as low amateur, one stroke ahead of Alvaro Ortiz, winner of the 2019 Latin America Amateur and brother of PGA TOUR professional Carlos Ortiz.

For the first time in Masters history, 65 or more players made the cut (61 professionals, four amateurs).

Three 64s were shot in round three( Patrick Cantlay, Tony Finau, Webb Simpson ), marking the first time three players had shot 64 or better in a single round at the Masters.

Two players recorded holes-in-one at No. 16 in the final round (Bryson DeChambeau, Justin Thomas), the 30th and 31st aces in tournament history.
