Earned his first career PGA TOUR title at the Barbasol Championship and qualified for the FedExCup Playoffs for the second time, advancing to the BMW Championship for the first time in his career and finishing No. 33 in the official FedExCup standings. Recorded three top-10s, his most in a season since 2017-18 (3), and made 14 cuts in 28 starts.

With the victory, earned the final spot in The Open Championship as the leading player not otherwise exempt. Made birdie at the 72nd hole to secure the one-stroke victory. Became the 11th first-time winner of the season and first since Matt Fitzpatrick at the U.S. Open.
